A JAPANESE 'FISH TRAP' FLOWER BASKET, ADAIR ESTATE - The 'Fish Trap (Eri) form flower arranging basket is constructed from wide, vertical split-bamboo staves secured with horizontal rattan knotting, the vessel features a structured rectangular silhouette with a slightly tapered, square plinth base in a warm, deep mahogany lacquer that highlights the natural node texture of the bamboo. A prominent double-arch handle lashed together at the apex spans the top. The basket comes complete with its original fitted inner bamboo water container and inscribed tomobako.
