MAEDA CHIKUBOSAI I BAMBOO AND RATTAN FLOWER BASKET - The rich, caramel-toned bamboo and rattan hanakago has an ovoid body constructed with vertical stays reinforced by horizontal mat-plaiting combined with fine twining raised on a tightly coiled circular foot ring having braided twill borders and a vertical wrap. Each side has tightly woven u-shape applications to reinforce the handle. The basket is topped by an attractive gnarled double-stem natural bamboo-root handle secured by intricate decorative knotting. Measures 23 x 12 inches in diameter.
