UNUSUAL CHIKUBOSAI II HANGING FLOWER BASKET, ADAIR EST - The unusual example is constructed simply from thick, bundled, wide split-bamboo stays woven in an open, spiraling lattice structure cinched at the waist by a heavy horizontal bamboo band, then fanning out into a thick, heavily looped top rim and with rounded base, the upper rear of the basket having a tightly braided rattan loop for wall mounting. The bamboo is coated in a deep, lustrous auburn-to-mahogany finish. Included is the fitted original cylindrical bamboo water container and the inscribed tomobako.
