A LATE 19TH CENTURY KAZAK RUG, WEST CAUCASUS, AS FOUND - The red field with a column of five stepped and hooked medallions within an inner green border enclosing continuous hooked medallions, a main ivory border enclosing continuous alternating red, green and blue stepped and hooked diagonal block medallions. Considerable mothing to the pile throughout. This rug has been stored in sub-zero cold storage (0°F) for over two weeks to ensure no ongoing issues with larvae or insect activity. Measures approximately 74 x 43 inches; 6ft.2 inches x 3ft.7in; 188 x 110cm.
