AN AKSTAFA LONG RUG, EAST CAUCASUS, CIRCA 1880 - The blue field with a central ivory pointed rectangular medallion enclosing hooked rhombus flower heads around a cruciform centrepiece supported by two similar red medallions, with two columns of four open tail peacocks and flower head blocks, within an ivory calyx border. Measures approximately 112 x 53 inches; 9ft.4 inches x 4ft.5in; 285 x 135cm.
