The Azmalyk is a pentagonal trapping used to decorate the flanks of camels in the Yomut Turkoman wedding procession usually formed as part of the bride's dowry, and woven in pairs. This is a very striking example defined by the large scale pattern elements which suggest an earlier date than those normally encountered. The tones of colour too suggest this was made in the time span as suggested. Measures 26 x 43 inches. 2ft.2 inches x 3ft.7in; 64 x 110cm.
