Matted, not framed. Charles Capps studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts before settling in Wichita, Kansas where he became known for his mastery of etching and aquatint. His prints are noted for their subtle tonal variations, technical precision, and poetic sense of place. The adobe architecture of Taos and Santa Fe became one of his favorite and most sought after subjects. Capps was a charter member and longtime president of the Prairie Print Makers, a Kansas-based print society dedicated to advancing fine art prints across America.
