Walter Schaffner was a landscape and genre painter in oil, pastel, and watercolor; also a Broadway set and scenic artist. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New york and worked for the Schubert and Ziegfeld theaters there as well. His easel work focuses on Hudson Valley and Connecticut pastoral, industrial, and riverscape scenes. Sight size measures 19 x 14 with a framed size of 23.5 x 18.75 inches.
