She was inducted as a Master Pastelist having won the American Pastel Society show of New York. This work is the result of thickly applied oil pastel or paint stick applied to a heavily primed surface that while wet had a comb or coarse brush dragged back-and-forth horizontally. The medium colors then stick to the high points, or skips across the low points or is applied thickly enough to negate the striations, creating an interesting ethereal effect.
