Untitled landscape with a sunset (1991) signed on the mat lower right. Board measures 1.5 x 3, mat is 8 x 10 inches, unframed. David Melby was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1942. He earned a BFA from Wichita State University in 1967, followed by an MFA from the University of Nebraska in 1970. He pursued further studies at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel, Mexico. As a working artist, he is most associated with Leavenworth, Kansas where he taught art classes as a a volunteer at the Federal Penitentiary there. Measurements are included in the description.
