It marks the period when Browne's work blended cubist structure and a playful surrealism creating lively and colorful compositions with rhythmic black line. Byron Browne was a founding member of the American Abstract Artists group formed in 1936. Alexander Corazzo (1908-1971), also represented in this auction, was a member as well, along with with Arshile Gorky, Willem de Kooning, and other early abstractionists. Sheet measures 20.75 x 17.5 with a framed size of 32.5 x 28.75 inches.
