Jo Saylors (1932-2018) Prairie Flower Late 20th Century The sculpture, numbered 11 from an edition of only 30 castings, is signed on the lower back side in the figure, Born in Tennessee, Jo Saylors began sculpting as a child, using clay from local creek beds. She won her first art competition at the age of twelve. Over her career, she created numerous sculptures depicting children in various activities, as well as wildlife and historical figures. Her works have been exhibited across the United States and are part of collections in thirteen foreign countries. Notably, her sculptures have been displayed at the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C. Measures 13.5H x 6W x 3.5D inches.
