The atypical example of subject and style is signed by the artist lower left front. The flat terrain landscape and subject pertain to the town of Logan in Phillips County, Kansas. Sidney Moore graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1931. Known primarily as a watercolorist, he also painted in this Modernist style, produced works of Regionalist influence, painted in an academic Italian School style and produced miniatures that were exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution.
