ARLIE REGIER (KANSAS 1931-2014) ENAMELED IRON SCULPTURE
Arlie Regier (Kansas 1931-2014)
Silos and Circuitry
1985
The Modernist interpretation of silhouetted wheat against a complex of grain silos is signed and dated on the foot.
This example displays the beginnings of Arlie Regier's move toward polished stainless steel sculpture and sculptures purportedly inspired by the random geometry of a computer's motherboard. In fact, as a teenager, the consignor of this sculpture gave Arlie a motherboard and attributes the designs seen here along the right side and across the bottom to this encounter. Regier would go on to produce complex, precisely arranged polished steel sculptures reminiscent of the circuitry of tech revolution.
