Rock Landscape

1910

This striking big sky landscape in a very pleasing palette was illustrated in the 1911 volume of Prairieblomen, a Swedish language annual published by Augustana College in Rock Island Illinois, to which Sandzen often contributed (see the black-and-white illustration here). The painting's title was listed in 1911 as Rock Landscape.

This work is signed and dated lower left front. It has been given #2756 in the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery card catalog of known Sandzen paintings.
