The large American genre scene oil on canvas is signed lower right in red pigment.
Albert Pels was an American Social Realist mural painter and WPA artist from Ohio who painted murals for schools, post offices and other public buildings. He attended the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Art Students league of New York where he also was a teacher.
Canvas measures 22 x 36 with a framed size of 26 x 40 inches.
