A FINE WILLIAM AND MARY OLIVE OYSTER SECRETARY C. 1720 - The olive wood oyster veneered and crossbanded secretary with upper two door portion having a moulded overhanging cornice and a cushion frieze above two doors inlaid with concentric circles opening to an elaborate interior fitted with ten larger drawers surrounding a central door that opens to three small drawers. The doors are equally decorated in oyster wood burls inside and outside. The base with one long narrow drawer over two deep drawers in matched grains are all raised on the original bracket feet. The sides are similarly decorated with equally striking oyster veneers. Measures 66.25 x 42.5 x 21.75 inches. Please be aware that this lot is too large to ship by conventional carrier such as UPS, USPS or FedEx and will instead require local pick-up, delivery by a freight carrier or delivery by a blanket-wrap shipper. The cost most likely will not be low. Condition: Very good condition, noting scattered short bits and pieces of veneer and trim loss, and the back of the upper case is a replacement.
