A 1920s ATWATER KENT RADIO DEALER'S ADVERTISING SIGN - The rare cartouche form plaque with sailing ship and advertising lettering in relief is formed from a sort of papier mache material and painted in five colors. The Atwater Kent Radio company was out of business by 1936. A paper tag for OLD KING COLE INC CANTON, OHIO is found verso. The Old King Cole Papier Mache Company was a prominent manufacturer of advertising displays and store decorations based in Canton, Ohio. They operated throughout the first half of the 20th century, decorating America's stores and store windows by the thousands. Among the many things they produced were the famous Nipper store displays for RCA Victor. Measures 19 x 25 inches.
