Bidspirit auction | Rare Antique Burmese Silver-Inlaid Spearhead,

Rare Antique Burmese Silver-Inlaid Spearhead, late 19th Century - Antique Burmese spearhead of elongated leaf form, forged in steel with a pronounced central rib and sharply tapering point. The face is extensively decorated with finely worked silver-colored inlay or koftgari-style ornament against a darkened ground. The decoration consists of dense scrolling foliage, floral motifs, geometric elements, and stylized animal or bird forms, giving the piece a particularly rich appearance. The reverse is largely undecorated and retains visible forging and finishing marks. The spearhead is offered without a shaft. Age-consistent oxidation, staining, rubbing, and scattered losses to the decoration are present, with general wear throughout. Burma (Myanmar), likely 19th century. Size: 14 3/4” x 2 3/8”.
