BRITISH IRISH GUARDS SENIOR NCO FULL DRESS UNIFORM WITH BEARSKIN and MEDAL - British Foot Guards ceremonial full dress uniform, apparently associated with the Irish Guards, comprising scarlet wool tunic with dark blue facings and white piping, gilt and silver-tone regimental buttons, elaborate embroidered senior NCO rank insignia to the upper sleeve, crimson shoulder sash, white leather waist belt with brass buckle, and bearskin cap with distinctive blue plume. Accompanied by a British General Service Medal suspended from its purple and green ribbon. The bearskin's blue plume worn on the right is the traditional regimental distinction of the Irish Guards. The scarlet tunic is extensively appointed with embroidered and metallic-thread insignia and four-button decorated cuffs. The white waist belt is fitted with a brass buckle marked ”COLDSTREAM GUARDS”, indicating that the belt/buckle is associated with a different Foot Guards regiment and may be a later addition to the grouping. An impressive and highly decorative example of British Household Division ceremonial dress, retaining bearskin, tunic, sash, belt and medal.
