BRITISH FOOT GUARDS OFFICERS SCARLET FULL DRESS UNIFORM WITH BEARSKIN and GSM - British Foot Guards officer's scarlet full dress uniform ensemble, second half of the 20th century, comprising a finely tailored scarlet tunic with elaborate gold bullion embroidery and lace to the collar, cuffs and shoulder straps, gilt regimental buttons, white piping, and silver-colored aiguillettes. The shoulder straps display three embroidered rank stars, indicating the rank of Captain. Accompanied by a black bearskin headdress, crimson and gold striped officer's waist sash with long bullion fringe, and a General Service Medal 1962 suspended from its purple and green ribbon. The medal is fitted with two campaign clasps, BORNEO and NORTHERN IRELAND. The Borneo clasp was awarded for qualifying service between December 24, 1962 and August 11, 1966, while the Northern Ireland clasp covered qualifying service beginning August 14, 1969. The medal obverse bears the crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the reverse is inscribed ”FOR CAMPAIGN SERVICE” within an oak wreath.
