Fine 18th C. American Revolutionary War era Silver - Fine 18th C. American Revolutionary War era Silver Hilted Small Sword Rapier. Fine example of European origin, dating from around mid 1700s, having solid silver hilt mounts with extensive high quality decorations, silver wire grip fully intact, nice never cleaned silver tarnish overall. Mounted with a larger than average triangular section blade built for most efficient thrusting action. Very good condition, blade probably cleaned over the years but the silver hilt never touched and showing just light wear consistent with extensive age of this Beautiful weapon, most likely carried by either English or American officer throughout the American Revolution.Total length in scabbard ( when scabbard is present, without scabbard otherwise) - 38.5”, length of the blade - 32.25”.
