German or English ”Dusage” Horsemans Basket-hilt SwordMassive saber with a huge iron hilt featuring a cage shaped basket guard with a very large recurved cross guard having flattened finials, simple engraved decorations and with its fine braid wire grip with large ovoid pommel. Mounted with a powerful broad large fullered blade having significant curvature to its length and featuring serious raised false edge tip area, struck markings to lower blade. Good condition with nice rich patina and moderate wear consistent with the age, a Very Impressive weapon.Total length including scabbard ( when scabbard is present) - 37.5”.
