18th C. Revolutionary War era American ”Spontoon” or - 18th C. Revolutionary War era American ”Spontoon” or ”Partisan” Pole-arm Lance Halberd. Of distinctive broad bladed form with armor-piercing tip, lower base with stylized bird silhouettes. Together with its long wooden shaft altered to collapsible with a long metal sleeve in the middle connecting the two halves. Heavy patina and wear overall consistent with the age and active military service.
