18th C. American Revolution era Officer's Rapier Sword - 18th C. American Revolution era Officer's Rapier Sword with Fine Pierced Blade. Good early example having a strong and sturdy double edged blade of hexagonal section having pierced fullers mostly encountered on Italian made blades of the 17th and 18th century. Brass furniture showing moderate wear to gold gilt finish. Good condition for the age and with its original leather scabbard rarely present on this early period weapons.Total length including scabbard ( when scabbard is present) - 38”. Length of the blade - 27.5”.
