Circa 1820s-1840s American Navy Officer's Eagle Head - Circa 1820s-1840s American Navy Officer's Eagle Head SwordA scarce variation of the early Federal era American naval officer's eagle head sword, with its brass hilt mounts featuring 5-ball D-guard and carved anchor to each side of the langets, original bull horn grip, unusual and scarce. Mounted with an early type blade with narrow fuller to each side, free of markings and decorations and showing extensive but uniform patina. Good condition overall considering two centuries of age. Total length including scabbard ( when scabbard is present) - 33.5”. Length of the blade - 28”.
