West, 28 Lords St. Sheffield”Early English fighting dagger predating the American Civil War by few decades, having robust double edged blade of diamond section, with well preserved struck maker's name at ricasso, other side with DCL trade mark. In its German silver mounts with nice bone grips having one small chip near the pommel and exhibiting light patina and wear overall consistent with the age. Nice early dagger by a scarce maker. Total length including scabbard ( when scabbard is present) - 11”. Length of the blade - 6.5”.
