Very Large 19th C. Backplate for Cuirass Armor, French - Very Large 19th C. Backplate for Cuirass Armor, French or German. An exceptionally large backplate of an European cuirass worn by a soldier of much bigger than average proportions, measuring 20” in height and 14 3/4” at the shoulders. Most likely to date from around mid-1800s.
