17th C. Polish or English Officer's Lobster Tail Helmet - Very Good 17th C. Polish or English Officer's Lobster Tail Helmet. A better than average example most likely worn by an officer of Polish or English army in the mid-1600s. Of complex construction having multiple separate plates affixed together by series of rivets. With a large fully articulated lobster tail neck protector and original ear straps. Topped with a slender and very pointy spike of square cross-section. A leather strap on the inside of the lobster tail is possibly a later replacement, rolled rims to all parts of the helmet. Showing fine outfit patina and pitting throughout. A very attractive and good quality example.
