Large Scottish TARGE Shield circa 17th - 18th C. - Large Scottish TARGE Shield circa 17th - 18th C. with reinforced metal mounts. A very large and apparently quite an early Scottish shield made of several sections of wood bound together and reinforced by thick metal strips, some rivets are later replaced, and having its original large domed copper boss to the middle. Back of the shield with a later patched repair and brass handle, the leather forearm strap possibly original. Diameter 23 3/4”
