Bagobo people, large rare shield carved from a single large piece of wood with separate lower border, with a raised central boss, well incised with black borders and ornaments on both sides, front inlaid with either bone or shell sections, retaining most of the original animal or human hair around the rim with some worn off. Large grip of carved wood. An impressive large example, a true find for any Tribal weapons collector. Height 38 1/2” Width 22”.
