A Good 18th C. Officer's Rapier Sword with a 17th C.
Very nice example of the European officer's rapier dating from early to mid 1700s and most definitely used through the times of American Revolution. With its brass hilt mounts and silver wire grip. Mounted with a good 17th century double edged blade of hexagonal section, lower blade with blued panels over two deep fullers, each bearing a gold highlighted struck Latin inscription "OMNIA VINCIT AMOR" which translates to "Love Conquers All". Total Length (inside scabbard if present) : 39 1/2", Blade Length : 32 1/2"
