KPM 'Girl with Basket' Porcelain Figure - Marked on the bottom.    Dimensions: 4 1/2” Tall x 2” Wide x 2” Deep   Condition: Minor mark on the porcelain on the backside. No chips or cracks.    About: The Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin was acquired in 1763 by Frederick the Great, who bought the failing Gotzkowsky manufactory and gave it the cobalt sceptre mark it still uses. Figure production runs from neoclassical subjects of the 1760s through Romantic and naturalistic groups of the mid-1800s to the Art Deco models Paul Scheurich made in the 1920s and 1930s. Marks date the piece: the sceptre was stamped rather than painted from 1837, and from 1870 it carries a diagonal rather than a horizontal crossbar.
