Tolla Inbar ”Ambition” Bronze Sculpture - Signed, numbered, and dated on the sculpture.  Date: 1998 Limited Edition: 11/25   Dimensions: 30” x 11”    Condition: The wooden base has surface marks and scratches. Overall, the sculpture is in good condition.    Artist Bio: Tolla Inbar (b. 1958, Germany) immigrated to Israel in 1971 and trained at the Bustan and Avni Institutes; she also holds a degree in psychology and sociology, which underwrites the reading of her subject matter. She works in bronze cast by the lost-wax method. Her figures are elongated and stylised nearly to abstraction, caught in extreme motion — climbing, reaching, leaning, lifting and supporting one another in configurations that appear to defy gravity — usually built as vertical, tower-like compositions. Her stated theme is the energy of the individual soul, summed up in her own phrase that energy triumphs over matter, and Ambition is one of the subjects she has treated repeatedly at several scales.
