See images for details.    Artist Bio: Miroslaw Balka (b. 1958, Warsaw) makes austere, body-scaled sculpture and installation from steel, cement, salt, ash, soap and used domestic materials, frequently dimensioned to his own body and titled with raw measurements in centimeters. The subject is historical trauma and memory, above all the Holocaust and the Second World War in Poland; his family were gravestone cutters, and much of the work originates in his childhood house in Otwock, a town whose Jewish community was destroyed. He represented Poland at the Venice Biennale in 1993 and made ”How It Is” for the Tate Modern Turbine Hall in 2009, a vast steel container entered into total darkness. The ”A Crossroads in A.” lithographs were published by Edition Copenhagen, the Danish lithographic workshop.
