Anatole Krasnyansky Silver Ink Drawing - Signed Lower Left.    Image: 25” x 19”  Frame: 39” x 33 1/2”    Condition: The drawing and frame are in good condition.    Artist Bio: Anatole Krasnyansky (1930–2023) trained as an architect in Kyiv and Leningrad and worked on Soviet restoration projects including the Marble Palace and the Hermitage before emigrating to the United States in 1975, where he worked as a scenic artist and set designer for ABC, CBS and Universal Studios. His work falls into two phases that later fused: precise architectural watercolors of historic European and Russian cityscapes, drawing on that draftsman's training; and, after 1981, surreal masked figures built on his stated theme that we all have many faces and adapt by putting one on. He pioneered watercolor on textured handmade rice paper, and combined Impressionist color with Cubist and Surrealist distortion.
