Artist Bio: Tunde Odunlade (born 1954) is a Nigerian artist, printmaker, and cultural ambassador best known for his innovative use of deep-etch techniques on unconventional materials such as recycled aluminum printing plates. A key figure associated with the Oshogbo art movement, his work draws heavily on Yoruba culture, blending traditional motifs with contemporary narratives. Odunlade’s compositions are recognized for their bold lines, rhythmic patterns, and storytelling elements that often explore themes of community, spirituality, and daily life. In addition to his studio practice, he has played an important role in arts education and cultural exchange, particularly between Nigeria and the United States, where he has lived and worked for many years. His work has been widely exhibited internationally and is included in both public and private collections.
