Todd Norsten ”Scriptorium” Resin on Canvas - The artwork consists of a canvas stretched onto a dark frame that has been dipped in a resin-like material and solidified completely.  Signed, titled, and dated on the back.  Date: 2000   Dimensions: 12 3/4” x 10”    Condition: The artwork is in good condition.    Artist Bio: Todd Norsten (b. 1967, Sunburg, Minnesota) took his BFA at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1990 and was included in the 2006 Whitney Biennial. His paintings look careless or thrown-off but are laboriously made — hours spent accurately rendering a smear or a hastily scribbled word — and he works through found text treated as poetry, deliberately sloppy hand-lettering, vernacular signage and trompe-l'oeil effects such as painted painter's tape. His materials lists are idiosyncratic and often part of the point of the work. The Walker Art Center holds nineteen of his pieces.
