Image: 44” x 42” Frame: 45 1/4” x 43 1/2” Condition: The painting is in very good condition. Wear and marks to the frame. Artist Bio: Jimmy C. Lueders (1927–1994) spent his entire career in Philadelphia. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from 1946 to 1950 under Franklin Watkins, alongside Ben Kamihira, and returned to teach there from 1957 until his death; his students included Elizabeth Osborne and Bruce Samuelson. He moved from figuration to abstraction and back again over his career, and is best known for florals and still lifes handled with high-key, abstract color that holds the subject deliberately between description and pure incident. The Woodmere Art Museum holds a number of his works.
