See images for details.    Artist Bio: Robert William Wood (1889–1979) trained from the age of twelve at the South Kensington School of Art branch at Folkestone and left England in 1910. He spent roughly 1923 to 1941 in San Antonio painting the Texas Hill Country bluebonnet scenes that made his name, settled in Laguna Beach in 1940, and ranged over the Catskills, the California coast and the Rockies. He was extraordinarily prolific, with output cited in excess of five thousand paintings, and became the most widely reproduced American landscape painter of the mid-century print market. Collectors should know that between roughly 1924 and 1940 he also signed work “G. Day” and “Trebor, ” so signature scrutiny matters with his pictures.
