Daum Nancy Gold Gilded Frosted Glass Cup - Signed on the bottom Height: 1 5/8” Condition: Very good, no chips or cracks   About: Daum, founded at Nancy in 1878, was with Galle one of the two great Art Nouveau glasshouses of Lorraine and a founding member of the Ecole de Nancy in 1901. Its work is more painterly and atmospheric than Galle's, built on mottled grounds, acid etching in successive bites, and fired enamel and gilding. Signatures date it: “Daum Nancy” before 1924, “Daum Nancy France” with the Croix de Lorraine from 1924 to 1945, and plain “Daum France” after. Gilded and frosted small wares were made alongside the cameo vases, for the dressing table and the tea table.
