About: Rene Lalique (1860–1945) was the leading Art Nouveau jeweler in Paris before he turned to glass, and his frosted relief set against clear ground became one of the defining looks of Art Deco. Pieces from his lifetime are signed “R. Lalique”; production after his death in 1945, under his son Marc, is marked “Lalique France.” “Dandelion” is the English name for Pissenlit, designed about 1921 across a group of bowls, coupes and plates, with the leaves and seed-heads moulded in relief and left frosted against clear glass.
