Overall, the necklace is in good condition.    Artist Bio: William Spratling (1900-1967) was an American architect and writer whose Taxco workshop, Taller de las Delicias, opened in 1931 and established silversmithing as an industry in a Mexican town that had mined silver for centuries without a working silver tradition. He drew his design vocabulary from pre-Columbian Mesoamerican art and Mexican folk motifs, translating them into bold, weighty forms in high-purity silver frequently combined with native materials such as amethyst, turquoise and rosewood. His apprenticeship system trained a generation of Taxco silversmiths who went on to open their own shops.
