Tommy Singer Sterling Silver & Lapis Lazuli Kokopelli Pendant - Signed on reverse. Dimensions: 3” x 1 1/4” Total Weight: 19.15g Condition: In good condition. Artist Bio: Tommy Singer (c. 1940-2014) was a Navajo silversmith from Arizona who was taught the craft by his father as a child and whose name also appears in the trade as Thomas Singer. He is identified with chip inlay, a technique he developed and popularized from the 1960s onward, in which crushed turquoise, coral and other stones are set into recessed channels in silver and leveled, producing a granular mosaic of color rather than the flush cut tiles of Zuni-style inlay. The method was widely imitated across the Southwest trade. He also worked in overlay, stamping and casting.
