Siri Hollander ”Toro” Bronze Sculpture - Dimensions: 9” x 17 1/4” x 7” Condition: The sculpture is in very good condition. There are holes for screws for mounting on a pedestal; no pedestal is included. Artist Bio: Siri Hollander (b. 1959) is an American sculptor born in New York City and raised from early childhood in Andalusia, southern Spain, where her father, a painter, kept a studio. She is self-taught, and by nineteen was traveling in Europe apprenticing with working sculptors. Horses are her central subject, drawn from a childhood spent riding in the Spanish countryside. Her characteristic method builds a welded steel-rod armature finished in a cement-and-sand mixture, producing weathered, roughly textured surfaces; she also issues cast metal editions. She lives and works in northern New Mexico.
