Panos Valsamakis 'Two Musicians' Ceramic Tile Mosaic - Signed by Artist Lower Right.    Dimensions: 31 1/4” x 11 1/4”   Condition: Crazing to the glazing throughout; otherwise in good condition.    Artist Bio:  Born in Kydonies, Asia Minor, Panos Valsamakis (1900-1986) studied painting at the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille before returning to Greece, where he is widely regarded as the founder of fine-art ceramics. His ceramic tapestries, rooted in Greek folklore yet universally appealing, earned him international acclaim and gold, silver, and bronze medals at major exhibitions. His works are held by the National Gallery in Athens.
