Born in Minnesota and a member of the Grand Portage Band of the Chippewa, Morrison developed a distinct visual language rooted in abstract expressionism, landscape structure, and organic form. His work often features horizontals, fragmented planes, and layered color fields, reflecting both modernist influences and the natural environment of the upper Great Lakes.
