Artist Bio: Francisco Zúñiga was a Costa Rican-Mexican sculptor and painter, renowned for his powerful depictions of the human figure, especially women. Born in Costa Rica in 1912, Zúñiga moved to Mexico in the late 1930s, where he became a prominent figure in Latin American art. His work often celebrates indigenous and rural women, portraying them with a sense of strength, dignity, and timelessness.
