Burl Jones ”Wolf Robe, The Guardian” - 1991 Large Bronze Sculpture With Base Fine bronze of an Indian warrior with a long spear and wearing a wolf pelt, bow, and quiver full of arrows. Well executed with fine details and colored highlights. Signed and numbered at base #13/30. Sits on a revolving marble and wooden base on top a wooden pedestal. Bronze measures 39” high, with base and pedestal, approximately 70”. Burl Jones, born and raised in West Virginia, abandoned a successful career as a dentist to devote himself to his bronze sculptures. His work focuses on outdoor and western themes, such as hunting, fishing, mountain men, and, of course, American Indians.
