Bidspirit auction | Antique Winchester Model 1873
Antique Winchester Model 1873 - This listing includes a Winchester lever-action rifle, which we believe to be a .40-40 WCF caliber with a standard 20” barrel and standard sights. The rifle features a walnut stock that appears to retain its original varnish. It is missing the saddle ring. Both the barrel and stock have a consistent, even finish. Standard features include a round barrel, standard sights, two barrel bands, a walnut stock, a steel carbine butt plate, and a brass trapdoor. It has one replaced screw and appears to be missing two additional screws. The rifle seems to be in good overall condition, though some of the barrel markings are illegible. It does not appear to have been re-blued. Based on our research, this rifle was likely manufactured around 1884, but we advise using your own judgment and research before placing a bid. The rifle shows signs of wear consistent with age, including scratches and chips.. The working condition is unknown, and the lever does not seem to function properly, with some loose parts.
